Last week I talked to a CEO who still does the company reporting himself, on Sunday evenings. He's not the exception. Most B2B companies under a hundred people have nobody to do it. So it lands on the founder. Late in the evening, tired, and mostly from memory.
The strange thing is that the data is usually there. HubSpot full of deals, Google Analytics running for years. What's missing is someone who sits down every week, goes through the numbers and says: this is a risk right now, and this is what we should decide. That's the whole job. It's boring, and it works better than any tool I've seen.
I do it for a few companies today, and after a few months you can see the difference. Same people, same data. Decisions just start building on the last quarter instead of starting from a blank page every time.
If your Sunday evenings look like this, write to me. I'm happy to tell you what I see working elsewhere.
